ABOUT ME

MEET KATHERINE : FAQ

Hi, I'm Katherine- thank you for being here!

I have been a licensed therapist for over 16 years. My academic background includes a B.S. in Parks and Recreation from Michigan State University, a B.S. in Psychology, and an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University. Throughout the years, I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds in various settings, including wilderness therapy, community mental health, and hospice care. Since 2018, my focus has been on private practice, a setting and role I deeply value.

I primarily support individual adults facing challenges related to trauma, anxiety, and depression. Recognizing that no single method fits everyone, I use a flexible, integrative approach. I draw from various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, Mindfulness, Somatic Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems based on a client's specific needs and preferences. I regularly pursue advanced training to enhance both my professional and personal growth.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors, particularly backpacking and relaxing by the ocean. Other favorite leisure activities include going to see live music, cooking, and watching movies. I "collect" books and strive to read most of them! I am the go-to builder in our household and have never encountered a bookcase I couldn't put together. Pop culture references and trivia are a lot of fun, and I appreciate a good belly laugh at least once a day, which my family and dogs happily provide.
